ChannelGrave Privacy Policy

ChannelGrave ("we," "us," "the tool") analyzes publicly available YouTube channel data to produce a diagnostic report. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted.

What we collect

Channel data (via the YouTube Data API). When you submit a YouTube channel URL, we fetch publicly available information about that channel through the official YouTube Data API v3 — including video metadata, view and subscriber counts, upload timestamps, thumbnails, titles, and public comments. We do not access private data, and we never ask for your YouTube login. We do not scrape YouTube; all channel data comes through Google's official API.

Email address. If you choose to receive a Revival Protocol, we collect the email address you provide. This is the only personal information we ask you for directly.

How we use it

We use channel data to run our diagnostic engine and generate your autopsy report and Revival Protocol. We use your email address solely to deliver the Revival Protocol sequence and follow-up reports you signed up for.

Cookies, Local Storage, and Device Access

ChannelGrave does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics. We do not place advertising or marketing technology on your device, and we do not use services like Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar trackers.

We use a single piece of browser storage for an essential, functional purpose:

cg_last_autopsy (local storage): When you run an autopsy, your most recent report is stored locally in your own browser so that you can see it again without re-running the analysis. This entry is stored only on your device, is never transmitted to us as tracking data, and automatically expires after 24 hours. You can clear it at any time through your browser's settings. Disabling it will not prevent you from using ChannelGrave; you will simply need to re-run an autopsy to view a report again.

We do not store any other cookies or similar technologies on your device.

Third-party resources loaded by your browser

Some content on our pages is served by third parties. When your browser loads these resources, the third party may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser type as a normal part of delivering the content. We do not control this collection, and these providers act under their own privacy policies:

Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — used to display the typefaces on our pages. Google Fonts does not set cookies, but your browser does contact Google's servers to retrieve the fonts.

YouTube / Google image hosts — channel thumbnail images shown in your autopsy report are loaded directly from Google's image servers. Your browser contacts those servers to display the images.

Email addresses you choose to provide (for example, to receive a Revival Protocol) are handled by our email provider, Kit, and are stored on Kit's servers, not on your device.

YouTube API compliance

ChannelGrave uses YouTube API Services. By using ChannelGrave, you are agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and our use of the YouTube API is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

In accordance with the YouTube API Services Developer Policies:

You can revoke ChannelGrave's access to your data at any time via Google's security settings at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Email and unsubscribing

Our emails are delivered through Kit (formerly ConvertKit). You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send. Unsubscribing stops all further emails, including follow-up reports. We don't sell or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing. When you provide your email, it is stored on Kit's servers in the United States and is subject to Kit's own privacy policy.

How long we keep your data

Data type Retention
Raw YouTube API data Auto-deleted within 25 days
Derived diagnostic features Retained as an internal calibration dataset (not shown to other users)
Email address Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion

Deleting your data

You can request deletion of your data at any time:

We'll remove your email address and any data tied to it. Note that raw YouTube data already auto-deletes within 25 days regardless.
